We’ve curated this list of mental health resources to support individuals seeking care. Below you’ll find resources for crisis support, free and low-cost therapy, domestic violence and sexual assault support, maternal mental health support, and resources for finding a therapist.

Crisis Support

  • Call BlackLine: Provides a space for peer support, counseling, reporting of mistreatment, witnessing and affirming the lived experiences for folks who are most impacted by systematic oppression by prioritizing Black, Indigenous, People of Color.

  • Strong Hearts Native Helpline: A safe, anonymous, and confidential domestic and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives, offering support and advocacy.

  • Trans Lifeline: Offers direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis; peer support hotline is run by trans people for trans and questioning peers. You can call if you need someone trans to talk to, even if you’re not in a crisis or if you’re not sure you’re trans.

  • Wildflower Alliance Peer Support Line: Hotline answered by a trained peer supporter who has their own first-hand experience with psychiatric diagnosis, trauma, addiction, and/or other interrupting challenges.

  • LGBT National Help Center: Peer support hotline staffed by trained LGBTQIA+ identified community members

  • 988 Lifeline: Provides confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. 9-8-8 is available via call or text, and online chat.

      • If you or someone you know is in immediate, life-threatening danger and decide to call 911, please be aware that police are not equipped to offer mental health support and may even pose serious danger to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Transgender, Neurodivergent, and Disabled People. Please first reach out to community leaders, neighbors, friends, and family to be present if you are calling the police. Most crisis line workers below are mandated to report calls regarding suicide to the police (i.e. "active rescue"). If this is a concern, we encourage you to first ask about their reporting policies before sharing your situation.

Domestic & Sexual Violence Support

  • RAINN Hotline: Provides free, confidential support, services, and information to survivors of sexual violence, available 24/7 by phone, chat, or text.

  • National Domestic Violence Hotline: Provides free, confidential support to survivors of domestic violence, available 24/7 by phone, chat, or text.

  • Love Is Respect: Offers 24/7 information, support, and advocacy to people who have questions or concerns about their romantic relationships and aims to disrupt unhealthy relationships and intimate partner violence; also provides support to concerned friends and family members, teachers, counselors, and other service providers.

Pregnancy, Postpartum & Maternal Mental Health Support

Free & Low-Cost Therapy

  • Open Path Collective: therapist directory focused on increasing access to mental health services for all, regardless of your budget. connects clients in need with mental health professionals who offer affordable therapy for $30-70 per session. https://openpathcollective.org/

  • Loveland Foundation Therapy Fund: scholarship for Black women and girls to access mental health car. Recipients awarded the scholarship are eligible for financial support for up to 12 therapy sessions. https://thelovelandfoundation.org/

  • Lotus Therapy Fund: through the Asian Mental Health Collective the fund was designed to help remove stigma on mental health within the Asian community. Participants can receive financial support up to 8 therapy sessions. https://www.asianmhc.org/free-therapy-funds/

  • Mental Health Liberation Fund: created by Inclusive Therapists, this fund connects BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, Disabled, and Neurodivergent people with culturally responsive, affirming, trauma informed care.   • To Write Love on Her Arms: treatment and recovery scholarship accepts applications from folks who are in need of mental health care but cannot afford to pay. Recipients are typically eligible for up to 3-6 months of mental health treatment. https://twloha.com/find-help/apply/
