Burnout Prevention & Recovery
Therapy and peer support for fellow therapists, activists, and care workers to help you prevent and recover from burnout, compassion fatigue, and cultural stress on the frontlines.
You care deeply about our world. You’re an activist, an advocate, an agent for change. You shed your light into every space occupied by darkness. But that light has started to dim. You’re discouraged, overwhelmed, and exhausted. You might find yourself wondering:
How do I keep helping people face grief, rage, helplessness, fear, and crisis?
How do I take care of myself or feel any joy without feeling so damn guilty?
How do I keep going on as people are silenced, imprisoned, disappeared, murdered, and impacted by one disaster after another?
How do I navigate hopelessness, anger, cynicism, and burnout when it feels like nothing is changing and I don’t know if I’m even making a difference?
You can work in a way that is sustainable for you. Whether you’re a therapist, activist, educator, care worker, student, or organizer, this offering is for you.
I offer a space to help you recover from burnout, self-doubt, role strain, compassion fatigue, moral injury, soul exhaustion, vicarious trauma, identity loss, and conflict with colleagues and comrades in movement spaces. Our sessions will equip you with the tools to release toxic guilt and shame, build relationships, politicize your practice, embody your values in your work, and develop radical self and community care strategies to sustain your work with your longevity in mind.
Through our work together, you will:
gain tools to prevent role strain and identity loss, release toxic guilt and recover from burnout, secondary trauma, and compassion fatigue
identify your gifts, restore confidence in your skills, determine where to focus your efforts and energy strategically to best make an impact
deconstruct martyrdom, self-sacrifice, social and cultural pressures, and internalized oppression in your activism and care work
learn to recognize and avoid individualism, isolation, and harmful power dynamics with colleagues and comrades, build aligned relationships
develop radical self/community care strategies to help you be sustained in your work and preserve your longevity in the movement for liberation
Testimonials
“After years of protesting, community organizing and advocacy work, I started feeling cynical, burned out, and disillusioned. I was struggling to feel seen and heard in the movements, especially as a queer black woman. Working with Briana helped me shift lanes within the activism space and lean into my creativity, learn how to take breaks without feeling guilty, build community, find my voice and regain confidence in myself and my work."
— Jasmine
“Prior to working with Briana, I felt frustrated, stuck, disregarded, and like I was struggling to accept some deep wounds and hard truths. Now that I've been working with the intuitive genius that she is (because she truly is!), I'm on a path where I feel whole, grounded, capable, and empowered. This has been such a time of growth and excitement for me, and I credit Briana with helping me get here."

“When I came to Briana, I was completely exhausted, hopeless, and experiencing burnout in my job. Briana helped me make significant changes in my life, leaving a job that didn’t align with my values and ideas, untangling beliefs around money, time, and productivity that were keeping me stuck and having the courage to a start new job doing work that was meaningful to me. Working with Briana was so inspiring and truly life changing."
